Death Knight

Now that the Beta version of Wrath of the Lich King is up hundreds of videos and screenshots are flooding the net. Here is a video of the character creation screen and the first Death Knight quest. Of course it’s a gnome DK

Blizzard has announced a new feature in WotLK, called “achievements”. You might be familiar with the concept from other games.

Basically, there will be a set of objectives that players can complete to get cosmetic rewards such as tabards, pets and titles and some of them seem like fun. They are split up in categories such as PvP (e.g. killing 50 enemy players in your faction’s capital city), Raids and Dungeons (every end-boss will be an achievement), Professions (advancing to a tier of a profession), Quests (such as completing certain quest lines), Events, World Exploration, Reputation and General which will include such things as getting a shave and haircut.

When the expansion launches, there will be 500 achievements and Blizzard is planning to ad new ones in the future.

A few days ago I was announcing that the beta sign-ups have begun. It seems that it didn’t take long for them to switch from Alpha to Beta. We have word from Eyonix (Alpha community manager) that it wouldn’t be long until we receive invites in our inbox. Cant wait

As you have seen here : Death Knights will start with a nice armorset (unlike our other characters: Thug Shirt FTL). It is heavily based on Strength and Stamina and has a nice named sword: Massacre.  In total the stats come to : +166 Strength, +100 Stamina and +38 Agility.

If we publish your news we’ll send an e-mail and register you in the database for that month. When the month ends we will have a draw and reward the lucky winner. You can enter multiple times, as each submission will be given a diffrent number.

From now on  this blog will have an up-to-date talent calculator for all classes, including of course the most important one: Death Knight. Just look in the sidebar.

Now that the WotLK Beta will start soon have you decided how do you want to step foot in Eastern Plauguelands with your shiny DK? Will it be an Arthas-like human or a “bad-back” suffering undead? I have made screenshots with all the races and genders and uploaded them here. Hope they will somehow help you decide.

It seems that the WotLK Beta registrations for EU and US have just launched, MMOChampion announced. Anyone with a TBC enabled account can opt-in, but I suggest waiting until tomorrow because right now the account management system is very laggy. Still I wonder what will the keys from the WW Invitational and Blizzcon 07 do. Will they get you automatically in the Beta?
